Here's my entry: 

 

 

This card is made with the Stampin' Up stamp set named "Coffee Cafe". I used the matching designer series paper named "Coffee Break".

 

The patterned paper is on a base of Soft Suede. The ink colors are Soft Sky, Blushing Bride, and Regal Rose for the hearts. Early Esspresso was used on the sentiment. I added 'Wink of Stella' glitter to the cup holders and covers of the cups. 

 

At first the card was kind of plain, so I asked my sister & daughter for suggestions on how else I could improve it. They had very helpful suggestions and this is my finished product.

Here is my entry:

 

This card is made with Stampin' Up Products. The stamp set is called "Beautiful Promenade" and the coordinating dies. The background is the embossing folder named "Quilt Top". 

The colors are Regal Rose, Crushed Curry, Elegant Eggplant, and Old Olive. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I created two cards for this challenge but I couldn't decide which one I liked better. So, I took a poll on Facebook, and the top one was the winner by an overwhelming margin!

One Layer Card Challenge

Hi Friends,

Today's card is a one layer card created for the One-Layer Simplicity Challenge.

I've always wanted to participate in their challenges, but lack the time to do so. This week is a vacation week for me, so I have some extra time to create.

This challenge was to use the colors red, yellow and orange. I decided to use my new Paisley & Posies stamp set from Stampin' Up!.

This card started off with a half sheet of heavy weight white cardstock.

I masked the center square with a trimmed down post-it note and started stamping.

The larger circles are in Cherry Cobbler, the orange swirls are Tangelo Twist, and the yellow shapes are Crushed Curry. The leaves are Old Olive.

I took anOld Olive marker and carefully drew around my post-it to create the frame.

The sentiment and flower are from the same stamp set and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and old olive.

Swap, Sympathy, and Get Well Cards

Hi Friends,

I wanted to share with you some cards I made lately.
Like in the title, 2 are for a swap, 3 are sympathy cards, and one get well card.

The first two cards were for swaps. The swaps have a theme and then you make 6 to 10 cards. You then send the cards to the hostess, and she sends you back one card from each of the other participants.

For the left card, you were to make a card using the Big Shot. I used it by cutting out the butterflies.
The card on the right, you were to use the new colors. (there are 5 new colors each year)




The next cards are sympathy cards. Unfortunately, we all need them at some time. I have a new stamp set called Rose Wonder. It has such a beautiful rose and the sentiments are so nice. It includes birthday, thanks, and sympathy sentiments.


The last one is a get well card for my sweet grandson who had his tonsils out. I'm so glad this card put a little smile on his face.

This stamp set is one of my oldie, but goodie stamp sets. I've always liked the bandage with the sad face.














I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards. It's one of my favorite hobbies.

Falling into Autumn

I'm falling into autumn because the temps around here are getting cooler and all the acorns are falling from the trees. How appropriate that Stampin' Up! came out with the stamp set named 'Acorny Thank You' and matching punch.  I'm having so much fun playing with it.

This card uses some nice fall colors, which we'll be seeing around here in no time.

Ink colors are:
Mossy Meadow
Tangerine Tango
Early Espresso

The card stock I used was Very Vanilla, and Soft Suede.

Sketch challenge #188

It's time for another Freshly Made Sketch Challenge.
I find sketches are great place to start when you need a card.

For this card, I needed a birthday card for my sweet granddaughter who loves pink. (She is turning 4!)

I used the Cheerful Critters stamp set with Regal Rose, Rose Red, and Old Olive cardstock. For the flowers, I used the Petite Petals punch and the flower from Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack.

I extended the olive below the flowers because it reminds me of the grass. I added dazzling details to the center of the flowers. I thought about adding texture to the pink background, but decided against it.






Here is the sketch that I based the card on.

Inspiration comes from many places. In my case, I needed a birthday card, I knew she loves pink, and Freshly Made Sketches posted this sketch. Everything I needed to make a special card for my granddaughter.

Sketch Challenge

Hi Stampers,

Today is something new for me, but something I've wanted to do for awhile. That is, to enter challenges from other websites or blogs. I'm submitting this card to the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #186.

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card, and this sketch worked beautifully.

This card uses the Pistachio Pudding, and Summer Starfruit card stock, and pistachio pudding stretch ruffle ribbon.

The Designer Series Paper is called Sweet Sorbet.

The Tulip stamp set is called Blessed Easter. I added 3 little pearls under the sentiment.

The card below is a reverse order of the same card. I had to try it out to see which one I liked better.
